What is Massage?
Massage is the working of the skin, muscles and connective tissue surrounding the muscles, called the fascia.
A Massage Therapist uses their thumbs, fingers, palms, knuckles and elbows along with certain tools to employ various techniques to work a client’s skin, muscles and fascia to eliminate / reduce pain, increase range of movement, reduce stress and improve circulation and digestion.
Massage dates back to ancient Egypt and China and records referring to massage can be found as early as 2330BC.
Massage Therapists use a massage medium such as oil or wax to allow for a degree of “glide” to prevent discomfort to a client from any pinching of the skin.
